How great is this ? I can log into https://forum.gitea.com/ ( #Discourse ) via https://gitea.com ( #Gitea ) where I can login via #OpenID just entering my own website URL (strk.kbt.io) as the only credential. My actual authentication is performed by my own services who are delegated to confirm I am who I declare to be (the one who controls my web presence)

@robe @lnicola @jorgesanz I'd love to see this working for the #OSGeo forum too.

@osgeo we all have multiple identities, somehow, so an open technology to deal with those is good to have. I was thinking we could allow obtaining a mantra for registering with OSGeo to those who have their website implement one of these two protocols (OpenID or IndieAuth) - maybe just adding some form of evaluation for the provided URI to reduce the odds of spammers implementing the techs on purpose 😅

@osgeo how many of the existing OSGeo members have a personal page set on their profile page? Having a website, a server, and running one of these services seems like a ridiculously high bar for a GIS worker who just wants to report a PostGIS upgrade issue on Windows.

maybe you could include a mantra whisperer bot in the windows package. Would unlock after N spatial queries

nah then the windows install would be reported as spyware. Maybe I can just throw a banner on the installed, click here for your free mantra to report issues and have it change the page based on time of day the link is clicked.
