consider using a #PeerTube instance to host your videos, unless you are planning to gain some money from advertisement that will be added by Google. You'd get a very small portion of that money and only if very many people will start following you, while people willing to watch your videos will be enforced to also view advertisement with no way to skip forward.

A lot of advertisement ends up in schools for the sole reason that educational content is only found on YouTube.

User oriented:

PeerTube:
PRO: can download the video
PRO: can comment on it from federated social web ( ActivityPub ) rather than needing a new account
CON: harder to discover content as Google search keeps pushing you to their YouTube service

YouTube:
PRO: as long as people keep uploading content there there is a lot of content available
CON: you are often exposed to advertisement you cannot skip
CON: you need an account to comment
