Why are there no #8bit #CPU with #GHz #clock-rates?

Not sure on this, but would a higher clock speed require more work from the CPU and more heat given off?

@zleap as far as I remember the heat dissipation goes with the square of frequency.
This is addressed in the linked discussion; I found convincing the "because there's no market for them" reason
