Land degradation is a global challenge threatening functioning of ecosystems. We applied the Potential Natural Vegetation (PNV) modeling approach to the GLASS FAPAR V6 time-series dataset to derive a new baseline reference of monthly PNV FAPAR, and long-term trends in FAPAR.
Method and key results applied are available in: https://doi.org/10.21203/rs.3.rs-3415685/v1. The monthly FAPAR data and long-term trend (1.4 TB) is available as #OpenData via https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.8381409; #OpenEarthMonitor

Land potential assessment and trend-analysis using 2000–2021 FAPAR monthly time-series at 250 m spatial resolution
The paper presents results of using remote sensing time series and machine learning to map and assess land potential based on time-series of potential Fraction of Absorbed Photosynthetically Active Radiation (FAPAR) composites.doi.org
