To the #MapStodon / #GISchat community: I'm seriously considering setting up and administrating an instance dedicated to the geospatial & mapping community, including both open source & proprietary worlds (so not limited to #OSGeo).

The idea is to start small to be able to run it by myself, see how it goes and scale on the way.

So, dear members of the community, what about a dedicated mapping & geospatial instance?

Thanks Jorge for the suggestion regarding the #OSGeo. I'll go check on the osgeo sysadmin chat today if I find the time. An organisation supported instance would probably be more trustworthy and engaging that a single person led initiative.

Regarding the domain for this mapping & geospatial community instance, I'm thinking about https://mapstodon.space. It's already secured and it would honor our shiny new #mapstodon hashtag :)

Any OSGeo service would be usable with existing OSGeo credentials. As for multiple "identities" that's a different matter, useful in some circumstances

That would be nice !
Multiple identities is already my problem, it is a mild issue for me :)
