Yesterday, https://mapstodon.space turned 8 months old! 🎉 🌍 🎊

And to be honest, I'm quite in awe by the growing quality of the timeline.

It keeps maturing and is now an open window on a rich and diverse content focused around cartography and geospatial, with its fair share of freshening off-topic posts.

Thank you all for your presence and for sharing such interesting stuff! Can't wait for the next 8 months!

Regarding the domain for this mapping & geospatial community instance, I'm thinking about https://mapstodon.space. It's already secured and it would honor our shiny new #mapstodon hashtag :)

To the #MapStodon / #GISchat community: I'm seriously considering setting up and administrating an instance dedicated to the geospatial & mapping community, including both open source & proprietary worlds (so not limited to #OSGeo).

The idea is to start small to be able to run it by myself, see how it goes and scale on the way.
