I wanna install #Nextcloud on my #Home #Server. I have a soft spot for #docker
Shall I go for

You probably should try podman! Youd be able to put all your NextCloud containers into a single pod, its much neater :p Even if you are running podman rootful it should be fine too

@tulilirockz I just fear to find subtle bugs since it is not the "main" way to install it into a #container

podman is a super solid solution nowadays, the only cases i have seen compatibility issues would be in super edge case scenarios like DinD-like things, running nextcloud is a very supported scenario so it should be completely fine

I tried podman as a Docker replacement about two years ago.

I had exactly the problems of subtle bugs and incompatibilities and was quite annoyed at the end.

And installing a current version in Debian stable was a PITA back then. So I stayed with docker.

@robertmx @tulilirockz Yes, I run both docker and podman on my machine. There are no problems with it.

Well, I tend to use #podman and on my #familyserver I would prefer to keep just podman and avoid installing #docker
