Nice to see that also the University of #Luxembourg is suspending its X account.

It could be a great opportunity for them to follow @ResearchLux example or even setting up a #Mastodon server for the whole university.

Hardly an improvement though, when "The University of Luxembourg as an institution will focus on its other social media accounts on LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram". In practice that means people have no option to use #FreeSoftware to read their social media posts. :(

@nemobis You are absolutely right but recognising that X isn't a suitable platform for the University it's a start.
That will hopefully lead to the evaluation of alternatives.

Peertube and Pixelfed are already known by some people at the Uni, it would be great to find a suitable replacement for LinkedIn (do you know of any?) to propose the upgrade to those platforms.

I don't know. We need to start from dropping Instagram and Facebook, then there will be some breathing space to spend energies on something useful.
