In Firefox, the scrollbar width is not tied to the system's scrollbar width setting.
I set the scrollbars to be thicker in Linux Mint so one of my elderly customers can more easily see it. The Firefox scroll bar remained as it was, which is quite thin.
To change scrollbar width in Firefox, go to "about:config" in the browser, then search for:
"widget.non-native-theme.scrollbar.size.override"
Set that value to something much wider, such as 26. Firefox immediately changes the scrollbar width, no need to restart it.
