Leggilo qui in PDF o EPUB:

@associazione-italiana-per-la-promozione-della-scienza-aperta Just one remark: If #COARA wants to be taken seriously, it has to cope with the question of members (even sitting on its steering board) that do non honor their commitments. #OpenScience

On #SPR as palliative care for the disease of scientific *publishing* without *making public*.

Why do so many European countries grant scientific authors who receive public funding a right of #republication (or #secondarypublication) that allows them to make their work freely available to the public even if they have assigned their copyright to a commercial publisher? Why is *publication* not enough?

Do you work in open source? Do you think it has a funding problem? If so, please take my 10 minute survey at https://opensource.study. By participating, you can help provide an understanding of what has worked and what hasn’t in the ecosystem.

This survey is part of a research project at ASU and is completely voluntary. If you have any questions about participation, please reach out to me here.

Introducing the Open Science Network 🔬
We're thrilled to be part of this initiative dedicated to building open and federated digital spaces to push the boundaries of open science and scholarly communication.
🔗 Explore more on the website: https://openscience.network
📢 Dive into the details in our announcement blog post: https://bonfirenetworks.org/posts/openscience_network/

@brembs @UlrikeHahn @jorge @open_science
#openscience

When a user shares a scientific paper link on bonfire, the app automatically fetches the #DOI metadata to display an interactive preview. This means instant access to key details like authors, journal, publication date and abstract. The feature was proposed and co-designed with @jorge to be implemented in the open science app, still a work in progress, any further feedbacks are very welcome 😀 #openscience @open_science @UlrikeHahn @brembs

Call for #OpenPeerReview: https://commentbfp.sp.unipi.it/maria-chiara-pievatolo-the-scale-and-the-sword-statal-science-and-research-evaluation/
We talk a lot about how research is evaluated. But we do not always ask who is entitled to evaluate research and what is the legitimacy (even from the perspective of #openscience) of a system in which evaluation is in the hands of bureaucrats, or government-appointed researchers acting with bureaucratic power. The origin of the question is Italian, but its scope is global.
