Cos'è #bluesky? È una rete decentralizzata come il #fediverso, #Matrix, #XMPP. Tutti sono open source e si parlano fra loro solo con l'uso di Bridge.

BridgyFed permette di federare un singolo account #mastodon con bluesky,

Quindi chi volesse essere seguito da utenti Bluesky basta che segua: @bsky.brid.gy

Chi volesse invece rimanere isolato non deve fare nulla, tutti gli account su M1 sono isolati di default!

Dear lazyverse, I've just read https://blog.prosody.im/great-invitations/ and https://prosody.im/doc/modules/mod_invites and I don't understand one thing: can this be used to generate an invite for an user that already exists and has been using the account for a while, but needs to reconfigure an xmpp client on a new phone?

of course they don't know their password, but I would have to reset it from prosodyctl anyway.

This can really be a gamechanger for instant messaging.

You can bring your own domain name if you want to.

This means: for about 5.50€ (6$) a month (according to the website) you get ten instant messaging accounts for you and your family/friends using your personal domain name (not included).

And you are able to talk to every other XMPP user out there.

Google have been quietly de-listing #XMPP apps from their Play store one-by-one for made-up reasons. Today they finally came for Conversations (https://gultsch.social/@daniel/111929074071688694 ).

@fdroidorg doesn't have these problems, and they additionally rebuild from source, supporting reproducible builds (so unlike the Play store, you know the published source code matches what's in the app you download). With their recent enhancements (https://f-droid.org/2024/02/01/twif.html ) I'll be recommending it to more people.

To celebrate Conversations being back on the Play Store and to deny Google their 15% cut I made the app free for the next ~48 hours. 😜
