I have cut the fabric pieces for #TheAngelicaGown, finally!

I strategically bought slightly too little fabric because the shop only sells in 50cm increments and I'd have been left with extra. I cut out the bodice pieces individually from single layers for maximum efficiency, and am now piecing together the skirt pieces. Last photo is what I have left over!

It is I, your olden times clothing propagandist:

I poured coffee all over my house skirt today and am out of other clean comfy options so I put on one of my 18th century petticoats.
They're just two rectangles of fabric, pleated onto two waistbands or ties! Extremely adjustable! Options for separate pockets! Simple and cute! Bring them back 😄

working on my # stays today. These are accurate to the mid 18th century; the outfit I’m building is c. 1760. I’m using Simplicity 8162, developed by American Duchess. Since this is my first set of stays, I opted for a pattern that’s beginner friendly, and I’m using my sewing machine rather than period accurate hand sewing. At this point I have the fashion fabric and coutil interlining cut and basted together; next step is to sew the boning channels & insert boning (heh).
