Adwaita is really pretty freaking great. It makes designing responsive apps just… easy?? Here’s an update to Butler, my Home Assistant app, for GNOME 47 and Adwaita 1.6.
Update coming soon to Flathub!

A very useful little app, Valuta lets you quickly convert between the many currencies of the world. What's the exchange rate between Dollars and Euros? What about the Real and the Franc? Just give the app an amount of one coin and see what it'd get if exchanged for another. Perfect for travelling, budgeting and more, Valuta is the simplest way to do currency conversions!
You can get the app on Flathub here: https://flathub.org/apps/io.github.idevecore.Valuta
What's up at the Department of Unnecessary Projects #DepUnPr lately?
Here is Oliver ( #vala / #gtk4 / #libadwaita ) running on #osx (12.4, x86_64)
theme is WhiteSur; decoration layout forced in app (both just to make it blend a little more in osx); bundler script adapted from System76 Keyboard Configurator; #gtk4, #libadwaita via homebrew.
(I know: adwaita is a GNOME thing, custom themes are bad, it should be pure gtk etc etc ... , but I had it around and it was small enough for a test)
On a more useful note, while playing with this I've update Oliver interface and added some features and fixed some bugs. I could publish a new version soon.
I would like to release it as a #flatpak, but I'm not sure how to handle running php as as subprocess...

Sometimes your desktop just gets a little boring and when that happens, let Damask refresh it. The app can automatically cycle through your wallpapers and can even find you some new ones. It give you the option to pull from various sources, like Bing and Wallhaven's collection of backgrounds. With Damask, you can always have a new backdrop to your digital life!
You can follow the app's creator here: @subpop

Confy 0.7.1
For #Signal users on #Linux (and #MobileLinux), there is a poll on the community discourse to see how many people are using Signal on Desktop and where they are getting it from, if you want to chime in: https://community.signalusers.org/t/signal-on-desktop-survey/53978
Hopefully if we can show @signalapp@mastodon.world that there is interest, they will finally claim the #Flatpak (and hopefully the #Arm version from Elagost [1] at the same time) !

Signal on Desktop survey?
On this forum there is open discussion about Taking ownership of Signal Flatpak, but in my humble opinion, we need to have some measurements, before we can be taken more seriously by Signal desktop team. Can you please answer to bellow questions.Signal Community

Of course I don't think #Flatpak, #Flathub, #FreeDesktop, etc. are evil. 😂
But we should be happy to use #SteamDeck as a way to get the cool stuff we're working on into the hands of millions of new folks. And we should be happy to use it as an example when talking to app developers we want to support #Linux.
Perhaps this is an alternative interpretation.

1. Several fixes for touch input, making audio/video calls actually usable on phones
2. Fixes for video support so devices with #libcamera / #pipewire support like the #PinePhonePro work now
3. The app is now recognized as mobile friendly on #Phosh
4. Stricter #Flatpak sandbox - no device/all any more
The new version is available on #Flathub and lots of distro repos.
