Last year I wrote up a mega thread with lots of links about mending textiles. I’ve compressed and reorganized it as a very old school webpage on neocities in hopes of making it a bit easier to use:

I don't have anything to contribute to #Fiberuary for #mending week, because any mending I do is sewing, so all you'd see is "Why yes, there are normal looking buttons attached to that shirt" or "Those jeans have a hem that looks exactly like a jeans hem" or "Those pockets do not have holes in them." Not very exciting. So here's a recent tote bag I made instead - I run the strapping in one piece around the whole thing for handles, so you can carry a small anvil in there without a problem.

Time to sew 11 tiny buttons, plus a spare, onto a linen blouse that has been languishing in the mending pile for years because I lost half the nice little metal buttons I had bought for it.

Now I have some tiny plastic ones because the one place I could safely get buttons in person* has few buttons. At least they’re a good color and washable.

* https://freemanscreative.com/ - excellent masking requirements! Great yarn & fabric.
