The future of messaging is: decentralized, secure communication based on the #Matrix protocol.

My screenshot shows the main screen from the app #Beeper (recently acquired by #Automattic) with messages from #Whatsapp, #Instagram and #LinkedIn –in ONE centralized inbox.

I have Meta apps on an empty burner phone and I really don't like LinkedIn, so this has been a fun exercise: I can access messages from these platforms without using their apps. Everything is end-to-end encrypted

Are there any #Beeper users out here? https://beeper.com the universal chat app by #Automattic, NOT real beepers... I realize the terrible timing of my question, given what's happening in the news. Sorry about that!

I'm attempting to test #Matrix bridges with various apps, which are technically made easy by Beeper.com but had some problems (see screenshot).

Update:

Some new messages do come in with no problem... excited to test Matrix-related things for the next issue of my newsletter

And I just joined another #Fediverse project (#Matrix) so that I can write about it for a future issue of #thefutureisfederated

LOVING the #Element app - it looks really modern and elegant. And it's very intuitive and easy to use.

If you have any Matrix rooms to recommend, I'm all ears 🤗

Abbiamo superato i 300 iscritti sulla nostra stanza matrix su #MastodonUno & Fediverso! 🎉

La stanza #matrix fu creata 4 anni fa, in quel periodo Mozilla chiuse il proprio server IRC per sostituirlo con il server Matrix su cui venne creata la prima stanza italiana sul #Fediverso.

Matrix è un moderno mix di vari servizi di messaggistica come funzionalità ed è open source oltre che decentralizzato e federato il che lo rende perfetto per la #UnoCommunity!

Per entrare basta chiedermi un invito!
